There are many reasons why a person might want to learn how to join street bike races. Some street bike races offer cash prizes, some can result in respect in the biking community, and some are just for the physical effort that a bike race takes. Whatever the reason, joining a street bike race can be a great bit of fun and an even greater use of your time, especially if you are interested in bike racing. There are several things that you can do to find a street bike race near you that will best fit the specifications that you are looking for in a race.

  1. The first thing to do is to check your local bike shop. In many highly populated areas where street bike racing is a common event, there will be posters or notifications at the local bike shops. Many bikers spend a substantial amount of time at bike shops looking for new accessories and gadgets to use on their bikes, so, chances are, if there is a race happening soon, the people at the bike shop will know about it.
  2. If you are not able to find out about a street bike race at the local bike shop, the next thing to do would be to would be to contact your local street track. In some areas, there are street tracks that will host such events, so, naturally, they would be the next people to contact about street bike racing. However, these tracks are usually stricter about their competitions.
  3. Get a sponsor. There are many professional races that will not allow riders to ride unless they are professionally sponsored. You may try to sponsor yourself, but this can end up being very costly, especially if you do not win.
  4. Ride. All of the above steps are all well and good, but if you do not know how to ride or have not been riding for very long, you will most likely need to get out and practice. Many of the greatest riders have been riding for most of their lives. In riding at local tracks and in casual races, you may even learn of some sponsorships or races that are open to new riders.

Following these steps, you should not have too much trouble finding a race to ride in. Though it is a difficult world to break into professionally, there is a lot of opportunity for riders who are looking for a more casual pastime.
