Have you ever wondered how to join a synchronized swimming team? Synchronized swimming is not only a competitive Olympic event, it is also an artistic performance that stimulates both the mind and body of the athletes. With the right means, you will be able to join a synchronized swimming team and gradually develop a stronger interest. You may even choose to perform in a nation-wide competition!

  1. Talk to a coach. Discuss your interest with a professional synchronized swimming coach.  He/she will help you develop a deeper understanding on what it takes to join a synchronized swimming team. You can then determine whether you still want to take on the endeavor to participate in synchronized swimming.
  2. Contact local synchronized swimming teams. The easiest thing to do is to find out what synchronized swimming teams are near you. Contact the local community centers and colleges if there are any close to where you live. Talk to the team representatives to see if they are looking for anyone to join their team. Some teams may offer beginner lessons so you can develop a set of essential skills first before choosing to join a synchronized swimming team.
  3. USA Syncro. Run by the U.S. government, USA Synchronized Swimming allows its members to participate in a great variety of programs for novices and masters alike. The organization also runs Syncro Camps and classes if you are interested in meeting people who share the same interest. Participating in USA Syncro will help you join a synchronized swimming team.

Once you have decided to join a synchronized swimming team, be prepared to change your lifestyle because team sport affects not only your diet and activity level, it also affects your personal life. Interact with your teammates even when you are not in practice.
