There are many methods you can use when learning how to keep cats out of your garden. Nothing is more frustrating than having your beautiful garden invaded by random cats. Some methods require a lot of effort, but there are some fairly easy ones that you can use. You may want to try several of the following methods for optimal results.

  1. The most commonly used method is fencing. A simple fence with chicken wire on the top will prevent most cats from accessing your garden. Cats are unlikely to dig under a garden fence and also unlikely to jump over if there is chicken wire at the top. While this is one of the best possible methods, it's also one of the more expensive ones.
  2. Another method to keep cats out of your garden is to use natural materials such as peels from citrus fruits such as oranges, grapefruit, limes and lemon peels. Cats are highly agitated by the acids found in citrus fruits, and this can be an extremely useful method. Scattering leftovers from citrus fruits all over your garden can also be great for the soil. This method is good, but you will need to replace the peels every few days.
  3. Finally, you can invest in plants that cats are repulsed by. These include plants such as peppermint, geraniums, rue, garlic, lavender, thyme and lemon grass. All of these are highly effective and will keep cats away from your garden. In addition to repelling cats, these plants will also make your garden look more attractive.

There are many practices you can use to repel cats, but the above ones are the most effective and most natural. Using one or more of the above methods will certainly keep cats away and keep your garden safe.
