Are you looking to wow soccer fans by learning how to kick a soccer ball with power? There are a few elements that go into making a soccer kick more powerful, a few of them going back into the physics behind kicking a soccer ball. It may seem like a lot of steps are needed to a powerful soccer kick, but if the conditions are right, a soccer kick can be extremely powerful. Here are some tips on how fast the ball should be traveling and what part of the foot to kick the ball with.

  1. Momentum of the ball. This is where the physics side of soccer comes in. The faster the ball is coming at a player the more powerful the kick will be. Look for a ball that is coming at you with a lot of force. Although it is still possible to do a powerful kick with a slower moving soccer ball, a faster moving ball will take the work out of kicking the ball with power.
  2. Put Your Weight Into The Kick. When going for that powerful kick, put all the weight and momentum into the kick. The more forceful the kick is the more powerful the kick will be and the further the ball will travel. The basis behind this is the power behind the kick is being transferred into the kick and into the ball.
  3. Use The Top Of The Foot. Getting the soccer kick just right is another factor in having a more powerful kick. Kicking the ball using the top of ones foot will give the ball more power then if the ball is off to the side or kicked with the toe. This is because there is more surface area on the top of the foot then the toe, and therefore more power generated.
  4. Use the Inside of The Foot. Another area of the foot that will generate a powerful kick is the inside of the foot. This works using the same idea of kicking the ball with the top of the foot, only it's a different area of the foot. Depending on how the ball is traveling and the body's position, a soccer player might be in a better spot to kick using the inside of the foot instead of the top of the foot.

Kicking a soccer ball with power requires a lot of the right conditions to happen. If a soccer player knows to look out for these conditions such as momentum, foot position, and putting weight behind the kick, the possibility of having more powerful kicks will be greater.
