How To Kill Bed Bugs

For the health of you and your family, it is important to know how to kill bed bugs.  Bed bugs are those nasty little creatures that like to think of you as their own personal buffet.  For your sanity and overall well-being, we have a few tips to kill bed bugs.

1. Vacuum the little suckers out.  One of the best ways to kill bed bugs is to pull out the vacuum and suck them up.  The only problem with using the vacuum to kill bed bugs is you may not get them all.  
2. You can freeze them to death.  If your bed bugs are confined to certain clothes or other materials which can easily be removed, you can kill the bed bugs by placing those items in a freezer.  If you aren't too thrilled about putting the bed bugs in your freezer, placing them outside in below freezing temperatures can also kill bed bugs.  
3. Turn up the heat on them.  If freezing is not an option because it's blazing hot outside right now, you can still kill bed bugs.  Take the infested items, place them in a bag, and stick them in your car.  Hot temperatures can be used to kill bed bugs as well.  It is important to leave the windows up while the bag is in your car.  
4. Pull out the Laundry Detergent and steaming water.  Washing the infested items in really hot water should work to kill bed bugs.  You want the water as hot as possible.  The idea is to kill them, not give them a relaxing bath.
5. Call the guy with all the cool chemicals.  If all else fails, it's time to call the exterminator.  The exterminator has a number of options available to kill bed bugs.  To kill bed bugs, the exterminator may opt for the use of pesticides or portable devices that can produce various temperatures.

The important thing to remember about killing bed bugs is preventing an infestation in the first place.  Be sure to thoroughly examine secondhand items before bringing them into your home.  Also be sure to get rid of any bird habitats surrounding your home.  These habitats can be a refuge of sorts for bed bugs.
