How To Lace Boots
It does not take much practice to learn how to lace boots, as the process is similar to any other regular pair of shoes. Boots come in different styles, whether they are for fashion, sports or work, but one thing is for sure: you can lace them all the same way. Here is a simple and effective way to lace your boots.
- Even out the laces. The first step to lacing boots is making sure the laces are even, as you do not want the laces to be lopsided once they are tied at the top of the boots. Prior to lacing, measured them with your hands so they are at an even length.
- Place the laces in the eyelets. Take the laces from the boots and put them through the bottom eyelets diagonally. Each lace should be on the opposite side of the eyelets. Another way to lace your boots is to keep the laces straight across the eyelets instead of diagonally; this popular method is known as straight lacing.
- Repeat putting the laces into each eyelet. Continue to lace your boots diagonally, until both laces are short and reach the top two eyelets. While lacing the boots it is important to snug the laces with both hands, but not to the point where they are too tight, because then you will have difficulties walking in your boots.
- Tie the laces together. Once the laces on your boots are in each eyelet, take the remaining boot laces and tie them into a bow. You can leave them in a knotted bow tie or tuck the laces inside your boots.
