If you like peanut butter, but you are trying to lose weight, you will be surprised to learn how to lose weight with peanut butter remaining apart of your diet. Some people may be weary to incorporate peanut butter in their diet, given a two tablespoon serving contains 190 calories and sixteen grams of fat. However, peanut butter contains monounsaturated fats similar to those found in olive oil, which are actually good for your heart and helps lower blood cholesterol levels. Along with following a few additional dietary guidelines, practically anyone can learn how to lose weight with peanut butter.

  1. In order to lose weight with peanut butter, women should eat four tablespoons a day while men should consume no more than six tablespoons a day and consuming no more than two tablespoons at a time. Most people consume their daily peanut butter serving as a snack in between meals. Eating a serving of fruit or vegetables with your peanut butter is also recommended.
  2. The peanut butter weight lost diet requires nine servings of fruits and vegetables daily. The peanut butter diet requires two or more servings of fruit and vegetables required by the United States dietary guidelines. The nine servings should consist of three servings of fruit and five to seven servings of vegetables while using peanut butter to lose weight.
  3. Three to six servings of carbohydrates, totaling around 28 grams a day, must be consumed while using peanut butter to lose weight. Refined grains are not recommended for the peanut butter diet. In order to get good carbohydrates, the diet recommends eating whole grains like wheat bread, wild rice and various nutrient enriched whole grains.
  4. Two servings of proteins like poultry, fish or any other meat are included in the daily requirements, in addition to peanut butter. The diet allows the two servings to be three ounces in size. Since the peanut butter diet provides two extra servings of protein per day, peanut butter dieters consume four servings of protein per day, equal to the United States Dietary Guidelines.
  5. One to two servings of dairy products may be eaten daily. The peanut butter diet diary serving is one less dairy serving than the United States Dietary Guidelines suggestion. Dairy servings should come from low or non-fat dairy products.
  6. As with any weight loss program, physical activity is recommended while on the peanut butter diet. When trying to lose weight with peanut butter, aim to workout for at least twenty minutes a day, four days a week. Incorporating a workout routine in with the peanut butter diet will help increase the amount of weight lost in a shorter amount of time.
