Figuring out how to lose weight without exercising sounds like a ridiculous feat,. After all, how can someone be expected to shed pounds without shedding a drop of sweat? Well, believe it or not, it is very possible and people are doing it every day. While exercise is considered the healthier way to lose weight, not everyone is up to the physically daunting task of running, jumping, or following along with a cheery workout DVD. Rather than subject yourself to breaking an undesired sweat, learn how to lose weight without exercise.

  1. Eat healthy. This is probably one of the easiest things you can do to lose weight without exercise. Eating healthy foods greatly decreases the amount calories and fats going onto your body. Substitute sugary fatty foods for healthier ones. So instead of that homemade cupcake, try 100 calorie pack cupcakes, they can be found at most grocery stores. Fruit is also a great substitute for fattening foods. If you don’t like eating fruit by itself, try a fruit salad with cream cheese dip. Don’t forget to incorporate vegetables into your daily intake as well. It’s not about taking foods away that you like, but finding ways to bring new foods in that you may enjoy just as much.
  2. Try a dietary supplement, or diet pills. Diet pills are a touchy subject; people tend to shy away from them because certain ones pose potential risks. However, if you take diet pills then you may have an easier time losing weight without exercise.  Study all of the potential risks involved and then choose the one that works best for you.
  3. Go on a diet. There are more diet plans on the market than you could imagine. From no carb diets, to juice diets, to diets that track your meals with points. Even the pickiest person can find an appropriate diet plan that suits their needs. Do some research and talk to friends or other people that have tried diets. Weight loss blogs are a great place to find other people who are trying to lose weight and have tried diets. You can definitely improve your body and lose weight on a diet without exercise, but you will have to follow it to the letter.
  4. Consider surgery. This is usually people’s last option but surgery is another way to lose weight without exercise, though it is a risky one. There are surgeries to fit many different needs. Liposuction sucks out the fat without being too invasive, there’s stomach stapling, gastric bypass and a host of other alternatives. Some insurance companies even pay portions of the surgery. Investigate all of the risks and side effects involved with whichever surgery you choose.
  5. Put safety first. While all of these options are beneficial, remember that at least light exercise is still a safe and wise choice. Also do not go to any serious extremes. Harsh diets, or multiple surgeries will all cause more damage than good. Be wise with your decisions and remember that a healthy body image is the first step to a weight loss goal.
