How To Make Aloe Vera Gel
Knowing how to make aloe vera gel can help soothe cuts, burns and bug bites on the skin. It has been in use for many centuries in different parts of the world and has recently become popular again, especially since people have discovered the great soothing qualities it has. It is very easy to make aloe vera gel from the aloe vera plant at home. If you don’t have an aloe vera plant at home, you can always purchase it or the leaves from your local super market or health store.
To make aloe vera gel, you will need
- A handful of aloe vera leaves
- Powdered Vitamin C
- IU Vitamin E
- Glass Jar
- Take a few aloe vera leaves and, with a paring knife, cut off the rough spiky edges of the outer leaf. Cut and remove the skin on one side of the leaf and with a spoon, scoop out the inner gel like substance and put in a blender.
- For every ¼ cup of aloe vera pulp, add 500 mg of powdered vitamin C and 400 IU of vitamin E. Vitamin C and E add extra health benefits to the aloe vera gel and they also help preserve the gel for a longer time. Vitamin C tablets are easily crushed with the back of a spoon and Vitamin E capsules are quick to puncture and squeeze the liquid out.
- Blend the contents well and filter the remains in a piece of cheese cloth to separate the pulp from the gel and give the product a smooth feel. Finally place the prepared gel in a glass jar with a tight fitted lid.
Aloe Vera gel will keep fresh in the refrigerator for up to three months.
