How To Make A Cement Mixer Shot

Everyone should know how to make a Cement Mixer shot. Not a pleasant shot to drink, it is a favorite for celebrations. This shot is usually given as a gag gift on birthdays to unsuspecting recipients. Follow these few simples steps so that you can make your own on the next birthday party you throw.

To prepare a Cement Mixer shot you will need:

  • 1/2 oz Irish cream (usually Bailey's Irish Cream is used)
  • 1/2 oz lime juice

To make the shot:

  1. Pour the Irish cream into a shot glass.
  2. Layer the lime juice on top of the Irish cream. To layer the ingredients without mixing, carefully pour the lime juice into the shot glass by placing the pour spout and pouring the liquid on the inside of the shot glass.
  3. Drink up!

You will want to drink the shot as soon as possible. The longer the shot sits the more it will curdle. This is not a pleasant tasting shot, and the taste will only get worse the longer the shot sits. To get the effect of the shot, take it as soon as it is poured and instead of swallowing mix the ingredients together in your mouth. You will feel the drink curdle in your mouth. The curdled ingredients look like cement, which is how the Cement Mixer shot got its name. Ingest at your own risk, but this shot makes a memorable present for an unsuspecting drinker on her 21st birthday. The Cement Mixer will be a present that she never forgets!
