If you need to find out how to make a cheap soccer goal, the amount of money you need to spend will depend on the size of the goal. If you want to put up a goal in your yard, you do not necessarily need it to be regulation size. A smaller goal will be less expensive to make, and will still allow you to practice shooting a soccer ball right at home whenever you want.
Things You May Need:
- PVC pipe
- Duct tape
- Zip ties
- Wood stakes
- Buy 20 feet of PVC piping to make a cheap soccer goal. Have the store cut the pipe so you have one eight foot piece for the crossbar, and two six foot pieces for the side posts. Buy some netting that is 10 feet wide and 10 feet long to use for the back of the goal. You also need 10 small wooden stakes to secure the net to the ground, so have the store cut some wood for you if they do not have any ready-made stakes. You also need some duct tape to fasten the PVC together, and some zip ties to secure the netting to the PVC when you make a cheap soccer goal.
- Once you return home, take the PVC pieces to the location of your goal. If the soil is soft, simply hold one of the six foot PVC pipes upright so one end is on the ground, then turn it clockwise until it is one foot underground. Use a hammer if necessary by placing a 2 x 4 on top of the PVC and then hammering the pipe into the ground to make a cheap soccer goal.
- Repeat the process with the other six foot PVC pipe to make a cheap soccer goal. Leave eight feet of space between the two pipes. Attach the crossbar to the two posts with PVC elbow pieces then tape the connections together using duct tape.
- Wrap the netting around the PVC and secure it using the zip ties. Pull the net back on an angle behind the crossbar and down to the ground when you make a cheap soccer goal. Nail six wooden stakes into the ground through the holes of the net to hold it down. Use two stakes for each of the side nettings. Try some shots to see if the netting and PVC holds up. If they do, you have finished making your cheap soccer goal.
