How To Make Fettucine Alfredo

Though this decedent recipe seems easy to make, keep in mind that a large amount of patience and attention is required to master the meal. This is why so many people choose to forgo a homemade version for the simpler method of going out to eat. However, this recipe is restaurant quality. With a little dedication to the cooking, this gourmet Fettucine Alfredo is sure to be the hit of the next block party. Or just something delicious to make when you feel like treating yourself.
Ingredients for Fettucine Alfredo:

1 lb of Fettucine pasta
- 1/2 cup of butter (Do not use a butter substitution)
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 3 gloves of garlic, crushed and then chopped
- 1 1/2 Pint of heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 cups of Parmesan or Romano cheese, grated not shredded
- dash of cayenne pepper
- Pepper - to taste
- Fresh Parsley, Chopped
- Fill a large sauce pot with water and bring to a boil. Add a tablespoon of oil and a pinch of salt to the water.
- Once water is boiling add noodles and cook for approximately 15 minutes for al dente (slightly firmer) noodles, or 20 minutes for a softer noodle.
- In a medium sauce pan combine heavy cream with garlic and butter.
- Bring to a rolling boil at medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
- Once the cream is boiling, reduce heat to medium and slowly stir in the cheese, adding just a little at a time. Stir non-stop until all the cheese has been added. Cook on medium-low heat for 15 minutes or so, stirring frequently. The sauce should become very thick.
- Add cayenne pepper and black pepper.
- Transfer Fettucine Alfredo noodles to a bowl, top with sauce and garnish with parsley. If you wish for a fancier version of Fettucine Alfredo, add chicken, shrimp, or scallops to the dish. Fettucine Alfredo also works as a perfect side dish to chicken, eggplant, and veal parmigiana.
