If you are hosting a formal dinner party, then you probably need to know how to make a food menu. At many dinner parties, there is a nice food menu set on the table to let the guests know what to expect from their dinner. These menus are easy to make and can make your party a very elegant affair.

  1. Design the menu according to the color scheme of your party. If you will not be using any party decorations, then you should design the menu according to the color scheme of your dining room or the room in which you will be eating. Use colors that are complementary and work well with the other colors in the room.
  2. Use a scroll of paper to create your menu. Take a long sheet of rolled up paper and use makers that are in the colors that you chose. Write "menu" in script writing at the top and draw a line under it. Then proceed to list out everything, in order, that will be served during the meal. You can list drink choices at the bottom if you choose.
  3. Decorate the menu with various scroll markings or other drawings. This does not have to be fancy, but you do need some sort of embellishment so that you menu does not look plain.

You can get great ideas from looking at other people's food menus online. Use them as inspiration when you are creating your own food menu for dinner. If your handwriting is not good, you can always print out the words that you need on a printer and then attach them to your menu.
