How To Make Fruit Cake

- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups applesauce
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder

- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. raisins
- 1 small jar of cherries
- 1 cup mixed fruit peels
1 cup chopped nuts
- Place the butter, applesauce and sugar into a large bowl. Cream together.
- Place the flour in a separate bowl. Add in the raisins, nuts, peels and cherries. Mix.
- Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Beat with a mixer for five minutes.
Pour the mixture into a large, greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.
