How To Make A Honolulu Cocktail

For your next luau, you will certainly want to know how to make a Honolulu cocktail. Just thinking about it brings visions of the beach, the waves, the sand, palm trees and Hawaiian music. Oh yes, back to the cocktail. It is a gin based cocktail that has a couple of variations.

For this version of the Honolulu Cocktail, the following ingredients and items are needed.

  • Gin
  • Pineapple juice
  • Fresh Orange juice
  • Lemon juicethe
  • Simple syrup
  • Agnostura Bitters
  • Ice
  • Lemon peel for garnish
  • Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Cocktail glass

To properly prepare the Honolulu Cocktail, just follow these simple steps.

  1. Put a scoop of ice in the shaker
  2. Add 2 oz Gin, ½ oz pineapple juice, ½ oz fresh orange juice, ¼ oz lemon juice, ¼ oz simple syrup, and small dash of Agnostura Bitters
  3. Shake the contents in the shaker slowly, to the count of ten.
  4. Pour into a sugar-rimmed cocktail glass
  5. Use a lemon rind twist for the garnish

The other variation is called Honolulu Cocktail #2. Here are the ingredients needed.

  • Gin
  • Benedictine herbal liqueur
  • Maraschino liqueur

Follow the next steps to mix the cocktail.

  1. Into the mixing glass add scoop of ice
  2. Add ¾ oz Gin, ¾ oz Benedictine herbal liqueur, and ¾ oz Maraschino liqueur
  3. Stir all of the ingredients in the ice
  4. Strain into a cocktail glass
  5. Garnish the Honolulu cocktail with a lemon rind twist
