Making leather bracelets out of shoelaces is a fun activity. You can turn dull shoelaces into an awesome bracelet. Bracelets aren't just for girls! Leather bracelets are some of the most masculine bracelets a macho guy can wear. By combining two leather accessories, you can create a hip, new bracelet. Use an old leather belt along with leather shoelaces to make a bracelet everyone will admire. Try using a brown belt and black leather laces, or vice versa.
If you want to make a leather bracelet, you will need:
- Old leather belt
- Leather laces in a contrasting color
- Leather Punch
- Leather snap kit
- You can purchase an old leather belt from a thrift store. Select any thickness you desire. Take the leather belt end and wrap it loosely around your wrist. Leave about an inch and a half extra. Cut the desired size.
- Starting at one end of the bracelet, begin using the leather punch to create holes in the bracelet. You are going to be using the leather shoelaces to lace the bracelet. Create holes on the belt as you would see on a shoe, two at a time. Make sure you leave three quarters of an inch on either end.
- Thread the leather shoelace though the bracelet. Begin lacing up the holes. Once you reach the end, go back through the holes again, forming a sturdy "x" pattern on the belt bracelet. When you reach the end, tie a knot and trim the remaining leather shoelace. Apply the snaps from the snap kit to either side of the belt bracelet.
