How To Make Lemon Tea

If you are a tea lover, then learning how to make lemon tea can be very beneficial. Lemon tea has been around for a long time and is used both as a leisure drink and an herbal remedy. Lemon tea can act as a purifying agent, clears the skin and can also help with mental alertness.  It blends well with honey which is often used to sweeten the sourness that lemon tea can have. Many people used hot lemon tea mixed with ginger and lemon to soothe sore throats. Cold lemon tea makes a very refreshing drink on hot days. This article will show you how to easily prepare lemon tea hot or cold.

To make lemon tea (hot), you will need:

  • 1 cup cold water
  • 6 tea leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or sugar, to taste if desired
  • Mug
  • Spoon
  • Small sauce pan with lid
  1. Pour water into a saucepan.
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Add in the tea leaves.
  4. Turn off heat and remove the pot from heat.
  5. Place the lid on the pot.
  6. Let the tea leaves seep for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Strain the tea into a serving glass. 
  8. Mix in the lemon juice.
  9. Add sugar or honey to taste.

To make lemon tea (cold), you will need:

  • 1 cup cold water
  • 6 tea leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons of honey or sugar to taste
  • Ice
  • Sauce pan with lid
  • Strainer
  • Spoon
  1. Pour water into sauce pan.
  2. Bring water to a rapid boil.
  3. Add in tea leaves.
  4. Turn off the heat and remove pan from heat.
  5. Cover the pan while allowing the tea leaves to seep for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove the tea leaves and allow mixture to cool.
  7. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. 
  8. Sweeten the lemon tea with sugar or honey.
  9. To serve, pour over ice.
  10. Garnish with a lemon wedge or a sprig of mint.
