Whether you have some unexpected expenses or you just did not save enough for retirement, it can be important to know how to make money after retirement. You do not have to have a traditional job in order to make money. There are several fun part time things you can do to make money even after you retire. Here are a few ideas.

  1. Freelance part-time in a field you previously worked in. Freelancing is a great way to make money after you retire because you choose when you work and what jobs you take.  If you do not feel like working for a few days, you do not have to. Not to mention you are your own boss.
  2. Write articles online. If you can put together a well written 400-600 word article, you can make money writing online. There are literally hundreds of legitimate sites that will pay you to write simple articles. Many times these articles can be written in 30-45 minutes and the amount you can make per article is virtually unlimited. So take a few hours out of your day to write to these sites and you will be able to make money after you retire.
  3. Sell your photography or paintings. This not only makes a good retirement hobby but can be a great way to make money. If you have a good eye for photography or can create a beautiful work of art, why not make money from them? Sell your digital photographs online as stock content or sell your paintings on an online auction site. You never know who may fall in love with your work.
  4. Work as a retail salesmen part time. Though a retail jobs do not offer the freedom that these other options do, they can be a great option if you are not comfortable with being your own boss. Look for part time positions in stores that provide a good hourly wage or an employee discount if you find that you shop in the store frequently. Just make sure you do not take the job too seriously that it takes away from your retirement.
  5. Just do something you love and find a way to make money from it. The fact is that you should enjoy your retirement whether you need to make money or not. Almost any hobby or interest can be turned into a lucrative way to spend your time if you just look. So if you like fixing things, become a handy man. If you enjoy gardening, sell your extra produce. Be creative and you will find there are ample ways to make money during retirement.
