If you are planning a December 31st wedding, you will need to know how to make New Years Eve wedding do-it-yourself decorations. Wedding decorations are fun to make, especially when you have a theme such as the New Year. There are a few things you can create to make your New Year's Eve wedding memorable and special for all who attend.
Things you'll need:
- White lights
- Strips of cellophane
- Glass vases
- Silver spray paint
- Use plenty of white lights. Just after Christmas you can purchase strands of white twinkle lights at a steep discount. Buy as many of these lights as you can afford and decorate the entire wedding and reception area with them. You want to hang enough of these lights that you don't need any other form of lighting for your New Years Eve wedding.
- Create glitter table runners. Use long strips of cellophane to create beautiful table runners for your reception. Cut strips that are long enough to cover the length of the table. Sprinkle gold and silver glitter along with confetti onto the cellophane and fold it over once. Seal the ends of the runner with tape to make sure that none of the confetti escapes.
- Purchase silver flowers. Purchase large glass vases from a craft store. Spray paint branches and flowers silver and arrange them in the glass vases. Place these on side tables at the wedding.
Remember to plan your New Year's Eve wedding for late in the evening so that guests will still be there to enjoy the countdown to the New Year. It's a great idea to have sparklers on hand for guests to light at midnight. This makes for a beautiful and fun send off for the bride and groom.
