How To Make A Pet Bed
You can learn how to make a pet bed very easily. Making your own pet bed can save you tons of money. Most pet beds cost upwards of twenty bucks each. All you need is the ability to sew and some creativity.
In order to make a pet bed you will need
- A large throw pillow cover
- Pillow stuffing
- Needle and thread
- First, you will need to find a large throw pillow cover. These are easy to find at home décor stores. The best deals can be found in the clearance section. Luckily, pets are not very picky about fabrics and patterns, so you can buy the cheapest one you can find. If you would like the pet bed to match your home style, look for a pillow cover that matches your style.
- Buy pillow stuffing from a fabric or arts and crafts store. Pillow stuffing is super cheap and really easy to use. Take the pillow stuffing out of the packaging and make baseball sized balls out of it. This will help to make your pet bed less lumpy. Take the stuffing and thoroughly stuff into the corners of the pillow cover. Continue making balls and stuffing the pillow cover until you are satisfied with the level of stuffing. You should usually add just a little more than you think is necessary. Over time the pet bed will become more flat, so adding just a little extra stuffing can extend the life of the pet bed.
- Take a needle and thread to sew the ends together. Thread your needle with a matching colored thread. Simply stitch the end of the pillow case together. Ideally you should try to repeat this process by going over the previous stitching one more time. This will create a much sturdier pet bed that will last a long time.
