By keeping some basic guidelines in mind, you can learn how to make snowboard bindings. Snowboard bindings can be expensive to purchase, but by using some equipment which you already have at home, you can save a lot of money. You can then use this money to go on a great snowboarding vacation. Your friends won't believe that you built these bindings yourself!
- Obtain a pair of rollerblades. These will be disassembled and used to make the bindings, so they don't need to be new. Look for used rollerblades at Goodwill, or ask friends and family members if they have any old pairs that you can use.
- Use a screwdriver to remove all of the pieces of the rollerblades. However, you should keep the boot portion of the rollerblade intact. Use screws to attach three pieces of Velcro to the rollerblades. These Velcro strips should be placed over the front of the rollerblade, towards the top of the shoes, and towards the bottom of the shoe.
- Carefully mount and screw the rollerblades to the snowboard, using six screws. Two screws should be placed towards the front of the blades, two in the middle, and two in the back of the rollerblades.
- Test the snowboard and bindings out. Use them on a flat surface before attempting to snowboard down a large hill. If the bindings still need to be adjusted, you can do so at this time instead of trying to adjust them while on the slopes. Enjoy the new bindings!
