How To Make A Soccer Goal
Learn how to make a soccer goal so that you can save money and do something constructive. Soccer goals do not have to look professional or cost a lot of money to be in working order. Your goal can range anywhere from two cones to a full size professional goal. Building a realistic looking goal is a great way to practice shooting the ball and can improve your shot power and accuracy with all the extra practice. This will also prevent you from have to chase the ball after every shot if you use a net to catch the ball.
- If you decide to make a soccer goal, you should first figure out how much money you want to spend. If you have little to no money, then you will be better off building a miniature goal made out of PVC plumbing pipes. If you have plenty of money then you can go ahead and build a full size goal, and if you are up to it you can build two so that you can have your own soccer field.
- You need to figure out whether you want a professional looking goal or if you just want something to shoot around with. If you want to make a professional looking soccer goal then you will need to spend much more money and will more than likely need to buy a soccer goal kit at a sporting goods store or online. However, if you do not mind building a goal out of PVC pipes then you will save a lot of money.
- If you make a soccer goal out of PVC plumbing pipes then you will only need a few supplies. Obviously you will need enough PVC pipe to fit the goal that you are building. It is fairly simply to design a goal frame with PVC pipes and connectors and there are plenty of online diagrams that you can look at in any search engine. You will also need some kind of net to catch the ball like deer netting, which is affordable and works well. You need zip ties to lock the net to the finished goal, but you can also duct tape the net to the goal.
- Make sure that your soccer goal is heavy enough so that when you kick the ball it does not fall over. You can stake the goal into the ground to prevent this, or you can place heavy objects on the frame to give it extra weight. You do not want a beautifully constructed goal that you have to walk over to and fix after every single shot you take.
