Pancake lovers are probably wondering how to make sourdough pancakes. Sourdough pancakes are just as easy to make as regular homemade pancakes but they give a different taste twist on pancakes. Next time you are preparing breakfast for your family or yourself, try to make some sourdough pancakes.

To make sourdough pancakes, you will need:

  • 2 1/4 cup proofed sourdough
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  1. Make pancake mix. To make sourdough pancakes, place the eggs and milk together in a bowl. Whisk them together. You will then need to add the dry ingredients to this. Blend everything together well. Slowly pour the melted butter in as you mix it.
  2. Cook your sourdough pancakes. Place a pan on medium to medium high heat. You should use a non stick pan. Place a little butter in the bottom of the pan to reduce the chances of sticking. Pour your pancake batter into the pan. You can make the pancakes whatever size you desire. Just make sure you can flip them without any problems. Let the pancake cook on one side until it is golden brown. Turn your sourdough pancake over and brown the other side.
  3. Serve the pancakes. Serve your sourdough pancakes to your friends and family. You can top them the same as you would buttermilk pancakes. Thick syrup is always a great idea. You can also top the pancakes with blueberries, powdered sugar, or sweetened cream cheese. However you decide to eat them, make sure you eat them hot.
