How To Make Teeth Whiter

Knowing how to make teeth whiter will help you achieve shinier and healthier teeth. Many foods that we eat can cause stains to our teeth and some cannot be easily removed by regular brushing and flossing, which is why we look into different ways to make teeth whiter and maintain its pearly look even between visits to your dentist.

You will need:

  • Whitening toothpaste
  • Whitening mouthwash
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Strawberries
  1. Brush teeth using whitening toothpaste. For whiter teeth, whitening toothpaste can help. You can ask for recommendations from your dentist on what brand to use. Start brushing your teeth with whitening toothpaste for two minutes and rinse your mouth very well. Then, brush your teeth using regular toothpaste for 30 seconds afterwards. Keep in mind that whitening toothpaste can be used once to twice a week to avoid tooth sensitivity.
  2. Use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Baking soda is a known cleaning agent and can be a better alternative to make teeth whiter. Wet toothbrush and dip it into a small amount of baking soda and begin brushing the surface of your teeth for about two minutes. Rinse your mouth well when you are done. You can use the combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide as your substitute toothpaste as well.
  3. Gargle whitening mouthwash twice daily.  Swish whitening mouthwash to make teeth whiter kill bacteria in the mouth and leaving it with fresher breathe. By doing this, you can get rid of stains which are hard to reach using ordinary toothbrush or floss. Alternatively, hydrogen peroxide can be used as mouth wash but with extra caution by never swallowing even a small amount of liquid since it can cause hazard to health. 
  4. Eat more strawberries. More than the nutritional benefits that strawberries can give us, they can even make teeth whiter. This is because they contain certain enzymes that work as natural teeth whitening agent. Although the effect is fairly mild, eating strawberries more often might likewise bring better results.   
  5. See your dentist. The above mentioned instructions are practical steps and can be done at home to make teeth whiter. If your budget permits, you can always turn to your dentist and undergo treatments for whitening teeth using modern technology. Make sure to indulge on these treatments in moderation so as to protect your teeth and avoid developing sensitivity or other side effects in the end.
