How To Make Vegan Energy Bars For Cycling

If you love cycling, you'll want to learn about how to make vegan energy bars for cycling.   Throw a couple of these vegan energy bars into your bike bag and take off on your journey.   The complex carbs, nuts and seeds provide energy for hours, and these vegan energy bars for cycling taste great!  

To make vegan energy bars for cycling, you will need:

  • 1 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup crushed pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1/4 cup crushed almonds
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup sesame or sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup vegan chocloate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cups natural organic peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 8 x 8-inch pan
  • vegan baking spray
  • 2 mixing bowls
  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan.  Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Spray the baking pan generously with the vegan baking spray.  Coat the pan well to keep your vegan energy bars for cycling from sticking to the pan during baking.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.  In one mixing bowl, mix together the oats, nuts, seeds, coconut, pretzels and raisins.
  3. Mix wet ingredients.  In the other mixing bowl, mix together the vanilla extract, peanut butter and the honey or maple syrup. You many need to put the mixture in the microwave for one minute to soften.
  4. Add the chocolate chips.  Mix the wet and dry ingredients for the vegan energy bars together, and then add in the chocolate chips.  Combine well. 
  5. Bake.  Press the vegan energy bar mixture firmly into the bottom of the baking pan and bake for ten to fifteen minutes.  Remove the vegan energy bars for cycling from the oven, cool and cut into bars.
