If you are a bride on a budget, you might need to know how to make a wedding bouquet. Making your own wedding bouquet is not as difficult as you might think. With a little imagination and the right materials, you can make a high quality wedding bouquet that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

  1. Decide what kind of flowers you are going to use. If this is your first time making a bouquet, you may want to go with plastic flowers. This makes handling them easier, and it is also much easier to correct mistakes. Choose flowers that go with the colors of the wedding so that the bouquet will be coordinated with the dresses and floral arrangements.
  2. Visit an arts and crafts store for supplies. You will need to purchase a bouquet holder, floral tape, wire cutters and floral wire. This should be all the equipment that you need to create your bouquet. You should buy two bouquet holders so that you will have one to practice on.
  3. Choose a model. Find a photo of a bouquet that you like to use as a model. You might want to use one that is out of a magazine or a photo that you have found online. Use plastic flowers to try to recreate the bouquet. This will be your practice bouquet. Don't worry about mistakes on this one. You are simply learning how to work with the flowers.
  4. Cut the flowers and arrange them. Begin by attaching the larger flowers in the bouquet to the holder using floral tap and wire. Once all the large flowers are in place, you can arrange the smaller flowers and the foliage.

After you have completed your practice bouquet, you will have a much better idea of how the process works. Once the flowers look like how you want them to be, then you can embellish them by adding in ribbons or other items from your model bouquet. With a little time and practice, you can make your bouquet look exactly like you what desire.
