No matter your reason for needing to know how to measure skateboard wheel diameter, the measuring process can be done easily and quickly.

To measure skateboard wheel diameter you will need:

  • Skateboard wheel

  1. Remove a wheel from the skateboard. Use your adjustable wrench to unscrew the nut from one of the four axles. Once the nut is removed from the skateboard axle, gently slide the wheel off of the axle.
  2. Get a measuring tape with millimeters. Millimeters is what's used to measure skateboard wheel diameter. If the measuring tape that you currently use does not have millimeters, you can run to the store to purchase one that does.
  3. Position the wheel to be measured. Laying the wheel on its side is the easiest position to measure skateboard wheel diameter. Laying the wheel on its side allows you directly access the entire wheel from all angles.
  4. Measure the wheel. Take the measuring tape to determine the width of the skateboard's wheel diameter. Measure the widest part of the wheel by taking the measuring tape and laying it across the middle of the wheel. Measure from one side of the wheel to the other side. Calculate the wheel diameter in millimeters. Now you have the measurement of your skateboard wheel.
