- The release mechanism releases the force that is being applied to a pressure plate by a spring. When the pressure plate and the clutch are separated, the engine operates without that power being used in back wheels.
- Whenever the driver then releases the clutch, it will then re-apply the pressure to the spring. In turn, the pressure plates and connects the engine and the transmission of the motorcycle.
- When this happens, the engine’s power is sent to the transmission and the clutch. This propels the motorcycle forward until the clutch is pulled again and the process starts over.
