You just got a subwoofer in your car and want to know how to mount a subwoofer box in your trunk. You want to make sure that you get the best sound out of your subwoofer, so proper placement of it in your trunk is important. If the subwoofer box is not mounted properly it can give the bass a muffled, poor sound. Mounting the box in your trunk properly will ensure that you get the best bass sound possible from your subwoofer.
To mount a subwoofer box in a trunk, you will need:
- subwoofer box
- wood screws
- tie straps
- heavy Velcro
- Determine the location to place the subwoofer box. Depending upon the size of your trunk, you will need to experiment to decide where to place the subwoofer box. You might want to place it in one of the corners or directly in the middle or back of your trunk.
- Put the subwoofer box in place. Cut the Velcro into strips a couple inches wide. Place the side of the Velcro with the hook onto the subwoofer, and then place the side of the Velcro with the loop on the floor of the trunk. Carefully slide the subwoofer enclosure into place.
- Screw the subwoofer box to the wood. Cut a piece of wood the width of your trunk, and place the wood underneath the carpet in the trunk. This will ensure that the subwoofer enclosure will not move.
- Secure the subwoofer box. Take the L-brackets and place them into position to get the most secure placement of the subwoofer in the trunk. Carefully attach one side of the L-bracket to the sub box, and attach the other side to the trunk wall or floor. Your subwoofer box is now securely mounted in your trunk.
