How To Move A Spa

It’s essential to learn how to move a spa the proper way to prevent damage to the spa and injuries to yourself and others. Moving a spa is a simple yet difficult task for the fact spa’s are not small or light weight. You can easily move a spa the safe and correct way with a few simple steps.

  1. To move a spa, survey the area first. Before you begin moving the spa, survey the route you will be taking to the destination of the spa. Make sure there are no obstacles in the way and that the path is wide enough for both you and the spa. If you don’t take the time to survey your path, you can end up damaging the spa and other objects because of obstacles. You can also end up with the spa stuck in a bad location and possibly become injured as well.
  2. To move a spa, make sure everything is unplugged and unhooked correctly. Make sure the power is turned off at the electrical panel. All valves should be in the proper position. The drain valve needs to be closed.
  3. Get some helping hands to assist you with moving the spa. Moving a spa is not a one man job. You will need at least two or three other people to assist you with safely moving a spa. Never try to move a spa without help because you can seriously injury yourself and damage the spa.
  4. After you have moved the spa to it’s final destination, clean out the inside of the spa well. Check the spa for any cracks or leaks prior to filling it with water. Make sure the filter is cleaned and working correctly.

You are able to move a spa with ease if you follow the proper steps and take the necessary precautions. After you have moved your spa and began refilling it with water, make sure you check the quality of the water prior to using it. It can take up to 24 hours for the temperature to reach the ideal warmth.
