For those who are not interested in paying off all debt, here are a few tips on how to not pay all credit card expenses off but instead to pay just enough to keep the creditors form calling and still enjoy spending frivolously. Have you ever heard people say that life is no fun without being in debt for the non-essential things life has to offer? Well there are some people who feel this way and are not quite ready get completely out of debt. Shopping is not just for the necessities that you need because let's face it the dollar amount spent on necessities vary from month to month, so why not spend the difference on yourself and if need be add a little more to the purchase with your credit card. After all aren't credit cards for those unexpected financial moments in life? Here are a few tips on how to not pay off all your credit card expenses:
- Never pay more than the minimum balance due. Some might think that it is strange to pay only the balance due on a credit card, but paying the minimum will keep your credit card company satisfied and still allow you to shop on the available balance of the credit card. Remember it took time to accumulate this credit card debt and since the balance will not get paid off overnight why sacrifice your status that you have continuously tried so hard to maintain.
- Choose happiness over your debt. Ask yourself are you ready to sacrifice financially without any kind of self gratification? Only you know how hard you work and no one will be able to see this if you are not wearing the latest fashion and going out to the hottest spots in town. Though happiness can't be bought and expect to remain that way it can be purchased for a period of time and then purchased repeatedly. Will you be truly happy if you are the only one at lunch time eating out of a brown paper bag when your co-workers are dining out with the boss? How will you ever get that promotion if the boss thinks you are not a team player? If you miss happy hour with your friend you will also miss the latest information necessary to obtain that promotion at work or even who is having a 50% off sale this weekend which will save you money.
- Keep your eye on your spending. Throughout the month pay attention to how much you are charging so that you don't go over your available limit on your credit card because this can cause your interest rate to go up but even worst this can cause the credit card company to lower your limit which means less shopping money available on the credit card. Even though you are not concerned about paying off all of your credit card expenses you still want to be able to have access to money when you are between paychecks, how else will you be able to catch that unexpected store sale?
- Celebrate your victories. Knowing that you took care of all of your necessities for the month and did not go over your available credit card limit is a victory to be truly celebrated. What better way to celebrate this victory at the end of the month than to throw yourself a private self indulgence party. So be sure to have a list readily available that you would like to do or purchase that you can splurge on once in a while.
