How Often Should You Poop
If you often wonder, “How often should you poop,” due to not having seemingly regular bowel movements, then this tidbit of information could do you a world of good. Pooping is the act of releasing from the body feces that came from the digestive tract and bowels. Many people find it funny to talk about the subject of poop, but it is realistically important to know just how often you should be visiting the throne.
Because everyone is different, it’s hard to pinpoint an exact interval at which everyone should poop. Many people have different eating habits which can result in differences in the frequencies at which everyone poops. Some people tend to poop multiple times during the day (normally around 2-3 times), while others tend to poop every other day or even once every three days. Because this is such a wide range, it’s safe to say that it’s normal to poop at least once a day.
If you find that you’re not pooping nearly as frequently as you’d like, this could be a sign that you are suffering from constipation. Constipation is simply when poop takes on a hard consistency and the body has a very difficult time passing it because of this.
On the other hand, you may be pooping too much if you find that you’re visiting the bathroom several times a day. In most cases, this can be the result of having diarrhea. You know that you’ve got diarrhea when the poop is very much in a liquid or mushy form, and it requires no straining on your part to excrete it.
However, if you’re having normal bowel movements, then your poop should be at a soft consistency, and it should be exiting your body at least once a day. Getting an adequate amount of fiber can change the rate at which you poop, so if you’re afraid you’re pooping too much or not enough, moderate the amount of fiber that you’re consuming. Also, spicy foods and sweets can also cause your body to excrete too much.
