For a laid back card game, consider learning how to play "Let it Ride" poker. Let it Ride is a fun and easy game to play. It is great both for beginners and people who are visiting a casino for the first time.

  1. Find a table. The first step is to find a Let it Ride table. When choosing a table be sure to notice the minimum betting requirements. You will notice that there are three spots for bets on the table in front of you. Don't be too concerned about this. The dealer will give you the chance to remove the first two.
  2. Place your bets. Everyone at the table must place their bets before the cards are dealt. You will place three equal bets of at least the minimum amount required at the table. You can bet more if you would like to, but the bets must be equal.
  3. Playing your hand. The dealer will deal three cards face down to every player. You can not turn over your cards, but you may look at them. When it is your turn you will tell the dealer whether you want to remove your first bet or let it ride. Do not touch your chips. You will have to motion with your hand to tell the dealer what you would like to do. If you want to leave your chips on the table, wave your hand over them to signal this. To remove your bet, you can make a sliding motion on the table towards yourself. The dealer will then push the chips back towards you.
  4. Community cards. In Let it Ride you are essentially playing with the dealer, not against them like in Blackjack. After everyone has had a turn, the dealer will reveal the first community card. After this card is shown, you can decide to remove your second bet or let it ride again. After checking with everyone at the table, the dealer will show the last community card. At this point the hand is over.
  5. Let it Ride or not? The game uses the standard poker rankings to determine a winning hand. A pair of 10s or better wins. The better the hand you have, the higher the pay out will be. The winning hands and the pay out odds will be posted at the table. For example if you are dealt a pair of queens in your first three cards, you would let all of the bets ride because you have already won. It can only get better from there. If one of the community cards is a queen, you now have three of a kind.

That is all you need to know to play Let it Ride. There are very few rules and only two decisions you have to make, Let it Ride or take back a bet. Just remember you are only paid on the bets that you let ride. If you pull back your first two bets and end up winning, you are only paid on the last bet.
