How To Play Street Hockey
Learning how to play street hockey is not too hard, but you will have to practice, and round up enough friends to get a game going. You will also need a couple of goals, and some chalk to mark the street with lines, which will help you make a nice place to play the sport. Following is some information on how to play street hockey.
- First, come up with the materials that you will need to play. Two goals, chalk, and a large section of wide street, preferably in an area where few cars travel (and those that do drive slowly) are needed. Each player will also need a stick, skates, pads, and a helmet.
- Set up the street for a game. Place two goals apart from each other, which may be moved for cars, and draw chalk lines for creases and center field. The length of the street used may be adjusted according to the number of players.
- Next, divide up teams. Try to have an even amount of players on each side, and one goalie on each team. Set the puck in the middle, and play the game in the street.
- To play the puck must enter the goal. Players may move about on skates, passing or shooting the puck, until the game is over. This part takes practice, especially for new players. Handling the puck with the stick can be tricky. For best results, try to play with those who already have some understanding of the sport. This makes for a more organized and eventful game.
- When finished, remove the goals from the street, and set them in a garage for later use. Tell neighborhood players to practice, and eventually, you can host quality street hockey games just outside of the house.
Learning how to play street hockey requires players with gear, two goals, and a street. The goal is to score on the other team's goal, so keep this up until one team wins, and keep a regular game schedule, and soon, players will be good and games can be a lot of fun.
