Learn how to prepare for jet fighter rides, so that you can safely enjoy your experience. There is nothing more exhilarating than flying in a jet fighter. Flying in a jet aircraft is about as close as you can get to feeling the extreme physical forces which can be put on the body. The G-forces which your body will experience during flight will be about as close as you can feel, to being an astronaut in a space shuttle.
- Obtain a medical physical, before your jet fighter ride. Contact an aviation medical examiner (AME), and obtain a full physical. Explain to the physician that you will be flying in a jet airplane. The AME will perform a full physical, to make sure that you do not have any conditions which can exclude you from safely flying. Some of the anomalies your AME will look for will include heart arrhythmias, hypertension, and other issues which may prevent you from safely flying.
- Acclimate your body to high G forces, in a centrifuge. Your body will not be used to the “G” forces which high speed jet maneuvers can produce. A centrifuge is used to simulate the G forces which you will feel on your jet fighter ride. Preparing for this can help improve your flight experience, as you can learn the effects that gravity will have on your body.
- Get a good nights sleep, before your flight. Preparing your body with rest is one of the best ways to make sure you will enjoy your experience. Make sure you obtain a full night of sleep, and abstain from drinking alcohol. Alcohol will dehydrate your body, which will increase your chances of being sick on your fighter jet rid.
- Eat a light meal in the morning. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids, and eat a light breakfast. If you do not eat any food, you will increase your chances of being nauseous on your flight. Do not over eat, as that may increase your risk of nausea and vomiting during your flight. By making sure your mind and body are in a proper state, your chances of having something go wrong will decrease dramatically. Proper planning and preparing in advance for your jet fighter flight will greatly increase your chances of having a fun, memorable experience.
