How To Prevent Wet Dreams

If you're a younger man and are in the middle social situations overnight, such as camping trips or visiting friends, you're probably going to want to know how to prevent wet dreams. Sometimes called "nocturnal emissions," wet dreams are a very normal part of being a man and is nothing to be ashamed of. However, in certain situations, they can be messy and embarrassing. You can learn how to prevent wet dreams, but only to a certain degree.

To prevent wet dreams, you can try:

  1. Masturbation. Contrary to thoughts of old, masturbation will not make you blind, nor does it mean you're abnormal. Releasing semen on a regular basis may prevent wet dreams but there's no guarantee. Certain studies show that frequent masturbation does provide some release though.
  2. Have regular sex. Now, this doesn't mean that you need to go out and be promiscuous, but if you do have a partner (even a friend with benefits will do), partaking in satisfying sexual encounters may reduce nocturnal emissions. Try to have sex at least twice a week.
  3. Try to reduce your stress level, especially prior to when you go to bed. Some studies have shown that wet dreams are not as much a sexual need for the body but are a way to release built up stress. Start in on an active exercise routine or try to relax before going to bed by reading a book or taking a hot bath.

Warnings:

  • There is no scientific evidence that any over-the-counter preparation will prevent nocturnal emissions. Wet dreams are a very normal part of life and shouldn't be shunned. If you do choose to use a natural remedy, be particularly aware of any potential side effects.
