You will need:

  • An Xbox 360
  • An Xbox 360 Messenger Kit
  • A gaming headset
  • Xbox Live
  • Connector cables
  • A TV set
  1. Hook your Xbox 360 to the TV using the connector cables. Make sure you have a good connection or you will get the partial red circle. Once you have secured the cables, the red light will go away and you can now turn on the Xbox 360.
  2. Turn the Xbox and the TV set on and sign in to Xbox Live. You will need to have the latest version of Live that was released in November of 2009. If you have recently purchased any new games or accessed Live recently, then you will already have the update.
  3. Connect the Xbox 360 messenger kit to your Xbox 360 controller. There is only one way to do this, the keypad must be facing up. Then, connect your gaming headset into the port in the lower portion of the messenger kit. Once the messenger kit is connected, you are ready to chat with other users.
