A marriage proposal is an important event in any relationship, so it is important to know how to propose for marriage. Some proposals are romantic, some are extravagant, some are fun and some are simple. Consider these ideas when deciding how to propose for marriage!

  1. Rent a billboard to propose marriage. If you want to propose marriage in a BIG way, try renting a billboard. After all, what is bigger than a billboard? Choose a billboard that is on your girlfriend’s usual daily driving route. Display the words “Will you marry me [girlfriend’s name]?” Make sure that you put her full name so that she knows it is directed to her. When she calls you, tell her that you love her and that you’ll be waiting for her. Present her with the ring and take her out for a celebratory dinner.
  2. Make your sweetie breakfast in bed for a simple and inexpensive proposal. Wake her up with the sweet or savory smell of her favorite breakfast. If you are no good at cooking you can order it from her favorite breakfast restaurant. Place the engagement ring somewhere on the breakfast platter. She will inevitably find it. When she does find the ring, be ready to propose for marriage.
  3. Place a classified ad in the local paper advertising your marriage proposal. This is a pretty inexpensive and very simple marriage proposal idea. Word the ad something like: “Male seeking beautiful, funny (other special qualities of your girl) female to spend the rest of my life with. [Name of your fiancee] (put the full name), will you marry me? Love, [your name].” You could also take out a larger ad where you can display a picture of the two of you and the words “Will you marry me?” Make sure that your girlfriend reads the ad you created and knows that the marriage proposal is meant for her. Check with your local paper for pricing information.

Make your proposal for marriage special with a unique and fun idea. Your girl will be sure to remember it for the rest of her life.
