While most snowboard shops will attach your bindings for free, knowing how to put bindings on a snowboard is a useful skill to have. Knowing how to put bindings on a snowboard will allow you to make adjustments whenever you feel like it.

Before you start learning how to put bindings on a snowboard you will need to gather the following items:

  • Snowboard
  • Bindings
  • Screwdriver

Once you have gathered these items, it is time to learn how to put bindings on a snowboard.

  1. Determine your stance style. The first step in learning how to put bindings on a snowboard is determining whether you ride in a regular stance or a goofy stance. If it feels more natural to ride with your left foot in front and your right foot in back, then you ride in a regular stance. If you feel more comfortable riding with your right foot forward and your left foot back, then you ride in a goofy stance. If you ride regular you will be attaching the left foot binding toward the nose of the snowboard and the right foot binding toward the tail.
  2. Line the bindings up over the holes in the snowboard. Snowboards come with pre-made holes for the bindings to be inserted into, so the next step in learning how to put bindings on a snowboard is lining the bindings up with the holes on the snowboard. Refer to the previous step to see which binding should go where on the board. The bindings will also come with instructions on how to adjust the angle of the bindings. Try different angles and see which feels best for you.
  3. Screw the bindings in. Once you have the bindings lined up properly, the last step in learning how to put bindings on a snowboard is screwing the bindings into place. Use the screwdriver to tighten the screws attaching the bindings to the snowboard as tight as possible. Riding down the mountain can put a lot of stress on your board and you don't want your bindings falling off. Once you have done this, you have learned how to put bindings on a snowboard.
