Learn how to quiet a car engine. It is unsatisfactory when a car engine is making a lot of noise. It could be embarrassing at times and you may want to get to the bottom of the engine problem. Fortunately, there is something you may be able to do about it. It may be something simple that could be causing your engine to give off more sound than normal. Follow these tips to quiet your car engine:
- Invest in MD 20/20. Sometimes, the metal in your car could get very rusty and cause friction against each other. It could make loud noises when they are rubbing against each other. The MD 20/20 could lubricate the parts and cause less noise and rust. It is fairly inexpensive and easy to use, so you do not need to pay additional money for servicing fees. You just spray where rust or extra friction is present.
- Check for loose bolts. Loose bolts could cause vibration as well as a slight noise. All parts should be secure. You could do a hand test by rocking certain parts back and forth slightly. If they move unusually, then there may be loose bolts nearby. If a bolt keeps coming loose, then find the reason for it coming loose more than once after tightening.
- Check spark plugs. When your spark plugs are going bad, then they could cause a slight noise in your engine. Inspect them or take them to a shop to determine if they are bad. If they need to be replaced, then replacing them should reduce the noise.
