It is time for you to get new tires on your bike and you want to know how to read ATV tire sizes. Riding your motorcycle bike over time can wear out the tires, and make it dangerous to ride, so you need to replace your tires as soon as you can. ATV tires can be a little confusing to read at first, but once you figure out how to read ATV tires sizes it will be easy for you to replace them. There is a series of three numbers for you to read and understand on your ATV tires. You can figure out how to read ATV tire sizes by learning some basic information.

1. Locate the series of numbers of the tire.  Look on the tire for the stamped numbers to determine your ATV tire size. For example, you will see a series of numbers such as 15-7-8.
2. Determine the diameter of the tire. The first number in the series of numbers is the diameter of the ATV tire size. The diameter is the height of the tire. This is the distance between where the wheel touches the ground to the highest point of the tire. In the example the diameter would be fifteen inches.
3. Determine the tire width. The second number in the series of numbers is the width of the ATV tire size. The width is the thickness of the tire. This is the distance across the tire from the front of the tire to the back of the tire. In the example the width would be seven inches.
4. Determine the rim diameter of the tire. The third number in the series of numbers is the rim diameter of the ATV tire size. The rim diameter is the diameter of where the tire wheel fit on the rim. This is the distance where the tire is connected across the middle of the metal hoop. In the example the last number, eight inches is the rim diameter. This would also determine the number of inches for rims that you would need to put on the ATV tires.
