How To Read Body Language

When it comes to meeting and dating women, learning how to read body language is essential.  You will undoubtedly come across both sides of the equation, where an interested or uninterested woman will give you a sign in a dating situation.

  1. Always watch the eyes.  A very good case could be made for pure eye contact in body language.  Think about it: eye contact could be the one form of body language that is most reliable.  A lot of this is due to eye contact being most natural; in other words, she might not be trying to convey her interest, but she'll look at you again.  Give and receive eye contact to get a read on her.  If you catch her looking at you two or three times, she may be interested.  If the two of you are making eye contact, you might be able to get a sense of her interest - if she follows with a smile (on her own or in response to you) or more eye contact, for instance, that's the "green light."
  2. Use and watch for physical contact.  Sometimes the best way to get a read on her is to use physical contact.  No, this doens't necessarily mean going for the kiss at the end of the date - though that will give you a very good read!  If she playfully or affectionately touches you, that's a good sign.  Or, perhaps while you two are walking, put your hand on her back for a quick moment; her reaction or comfort level will be a good tell.
  3. Look for basic body language signs.  You know them: if she sits with her arms crossed and is looking around a lot, she might not be having the best date.  Also, don't put too much emphasis on body language; for all you know, the first date jitters could produce some signs that might not be accurate.
