To read Tarot Cards, you will need:
- Deck of Tarot Cards
- Booklet of definitions
- Study the definitions of each card. Included with each deck of tarot cards is a booklet of definition and layouts. There is a different meaning for a card that is facing upright and when the same card that is reversed or upside down. It will take time and repetition to memorize the entire deck.
-
Select the layout you will use for the reading. The layout is the positioning of the cards on the table. Each position has a different meaning. For instance, the first card placed in the middle of the layout represents the questioner (the person you are reading for). Layouts place the tarot cards in a cross, a row, or a circle. Study what each position represents.
-
Have the questioner shuffle the deck several times, cut the cards, and hand you the stack of cards to be used. Place the cards face up in the correct positions of the layout. Until you learn the definitions of the card look up each definition. Quiet your mind; avoid distractions like kids, pets, and music.
-
Give the meaning of the card as it relates to the position. For instance, in the tenth position of the layout, which represents the final outcome for the questioner, sits the Death card. This means, when all is said and done, the questioner can expect to leave the past behind and experience a new beginning. Read the entire layout one card at a time.
Tips: Practice by learning a new card each day. Pull a card from the deck, study the definition, and be conscious of the relevance of the card in your life that day. In 78 days you will know the entire Tarot deck.
