How To Refresh BlackBerry Curve SMS

If you own a Blackberry, at one point or another you will need to know how to refresh BlackBerry Curve SMS queue. Generally, the Blackberry Curve smartphone will refresh the SMS queue automatically, but every once in a while, the Blackberry Curve may experience a period of glitching when it will not refresh the SMS queue on its own. That's when you'll need to know how to get the queue to reconcile with the server. Just follow these easy instructions to learn how to refresh Blackberry Curve SMS:

What you will need:

  • a Blackberry Curve smartphone (directions given are for model 8310)
  • a few minutes of time
  1. Navigate to SMS.  Depending upon your chosen theme, the SMS list may appear in a variety of places on your home screen. Turn on your Blackberry Curve and navigate to your SMS message list on the Blackberry Curve.
  2. Refresh the SMS queue.  While in your SMS message list on the Blackberry Curve, scroll your trackball to highlight a date or a message.   When either are highlighted, click on the "Menu" key on your keypad.  This will bring up the menu of available options for your SMS messages.   Scroll through the list and choose "Reconcile Now" from the menu.  This will reconcile, or refresh, the Blackberry Curve SMS queue.
  3. Alternate method.  Alternately, you may choose to simply turn off your Blackberry Curve, and then restart it. This will prompt the smartphone to communicate with the server and refresh your Blackberry Curve SMS queue automatically again.
