How To Remove Internet Explorer 8
If you want to know how to remove Internet Explorer 8, it is easy to do so. If you don't like the Internet Explorer 8 browser, you may want to remove it to save space on your hard drive. It takes only a few clicks of the mouse to remove Internet Explorer 8.
Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Close all programs. Close the other programs you have open on your computer.

View your programs list. Access the Control Panel and click "Programs and Features." A window will open that shows all of the programs you have installed on your computer.

Select Internet Explorer 8. Click the "Turn Windows features on or off" link in the task pane. Select "Internet Explorer 8" when the "Windows Features" dialog box opens, click "OK."
- Verify that you want to remove Internet Explorer 8. A box will open asking if you are sure you want to uninstall Internet Explorer 8. Click "Yes." The software will begin uninstalling. Restart your computer after the uninstall is complete.
Windows XP
- Close all programs. Close the programs you have open on your computer before you remove Internet Explorer 8.
- View your programs list. Open the Control Panel and click "Add or Remove Programs."
- Select Internet Explorer 8. Scroll through the list of programs and click Internet Explorer 8.
- Remove Internet Explorer 8. Click the "Remove" button after selecting Internet Explorer 8 and verify that you want to uninstall the program when you are prompted. Restart your computer after the uninstall is complete.
Remember, before you remove Internet Explorer 8, make sure you have a back-up Internet browser so you will still be able to browse the Internet.
