How To Remove Super Glue From Your Hands

Learning how to remove super glue from your hands is important when you are working on several craft projects. Super glue is a stronger adhesive than school glue, and sets much faster. If you get super glue on your hands, you may end up with a few fingers stuck together. Removing the super glue isn't as hard as it may seem.

You will need the following items to remove the super glue from your hands:

  • Paper towels
  • Acetone nail polish remover
  • Hand soap
  • Water

Follow these steps to remove the super glue from your hands:

  1. Get a paper towel and immediately try to wipe the super glue off of your hands. This works when done as soon as the super glue comes in contact with your skin.
  2. Pour some acetone nail polish remover on a fresh paper towel and wipe it over the super glue on your hands. The acetone will get the super glue to come loose. You may need to work at it for a minute or two depending on how much super glue you got on your hands.
  3. Wash your hand with soap and water to remove any remaining residue once you have gotten the super glue off of your hands.

Tip:

  • Prevent super glue from ever getting on your hands by wearing plastic or latex gloves.
  • You can purchase pure acetone and use that instead of nail polish remover.

Warning:

  • Do not pour water over the super glue after you get it on your hands. Water will cause the super glue to set.
