Never learned how to replace a battery? Are you embarrassed you've never learned this simple maintenance task? You don't have to anymore, because after reading this article, you will be well informed on how to replace your car battery. Below are helpful tips to help you complete the task.

       Supplies you will need:

  • Pliers
  • New battery
  • WD 40 spray
  1. Start untightening bolts on the connectors. After you have lifted up the hood on your car, take your pliers and start loosening the bolt connectors that are attached to your battery. You may need a little WD 40 spray to loosen the bolts a little if they are rusty. After you have taken off the connectors attached to the battery, remove it from the car so that you can put a new battery in.
  2. Put new battery in. Place the new battery on the platform where you removed the prior battery. Now that the new battery is firmly in place, attach the connectors to the battery terminal. Just place the red connector to the area on the battery that is positive (+) and connect the black connector to the negative (-) prong. Place bolts back onto the connectors where the battery and connectors meet. Tighten the bolts firmly, until they cannot be removed by hand.
  3. Turn the car on to make sure new battery is good. Close the hood and go inside your car to start the car. If the battery is good, you have no worries, but if it is not, make sure you return it to the place in which you bought it with your receipt.
