- Locate the Air Filter Compartment. It is all too easy to become overwhelmed when you open the hood of your Infiniti Fx35. If you are looking down at your Infiniti Fx35 engine, the air filter compartment is located towards the bottom right of the engine. If you see the coolant reservoir, look to your immediate right and you will see the air filter compartment.
Opening the Air Filter Compartment. Once you have located the air filter compartment in your Infiniti Fx35, you will need to open the compartment to access the air filter. To open the air filter compartment in your Infiniti Fx35, you will need to remove the retainers. The retainers are black latches that simply pop up. If you are looking down at the air filter compartment in your Infiniti Fx35, the 2 retainers that you need to remove will be located on the top of the air filter compartment.
Removing the Air Filter. With the retainers removed, you are ready to remove the air filter from the air filter compartment. It may take a bit of force to pop open the air filter compartment. The air filter in your Infiniti Fx35 will simply slide out. While the air filter is removed, it is a good idea to use a damp cloth to clean the inside of the air filter compartment. Once you have cleaned the compartment, place a new air filter in and replace the retainers.
