How To Reply On Twitter
If you are new to Twitter, you need to know how to reply on twitter. You have probably noticed that posting and responding to status updates or "Tweets" is a little different compared to how it works at other social networking sites. If you want to reply to a Tweet someone posted, you have to post an "@reply" from your homepage. You can do this one of two ways. You can click the "Reply" button on another person's Twitter page (this posts the "@reply" for you) or you can enter the "@reply" yourself.
- Log in to Twitter. Sign in to your Twitter account using your username and password. You must be logged into Twitter before posting a reply.
- Visit the user's profile that you want to post a response to. Either click the user's name from a recent Tweet or open your "Following" list and select the user's name.
-
Post a response. Hover over the Tweet you want to respond to and click "Reply." You will be taken back to your homepage and the "@reply" information will already be entered in the Tweet box. Type a response and click "Tweet."
- Enter a reply from your homepage. Enter a response directed to a Twitter user in the "What's Happening?" box by entering "@" and the person's username. For example, if you wanted to post a reply to "90210Chick" you would first enter "@90210Chick" in the "What's Happening?" box and then type the reply. After entering the response, click "Tweet." The Tweet will show up on your homepage as well as the homepage of the user you directed the response to.
Warning
- Make sure to edit your Tweet before you post it because you can't change it later.
