If you've downloaded a bunch of apps or your BlackBerry is just not working properly (i.e. the web browser doesn't work), you probably need to know how to reset a BlackBerry curve. Before you reset your BlackBerry, make sure you have a copy of any pertinent information needed (such as contact info) so you don't have to input the information when you get your phone back up and running.

Note: The information below will assist you in resetting a Blackberry Curve 9300.

Things you'll need:

  • BlackBerry Curve 9300
  1. Find the "Options" icon. The Options icon looks like a wrench tool and can be anywhere on the Home menu. To access all of your "Home" icons, push the button to the right of your trackball or trackpad (depending on which BlackBerry Curve you own). Scroll down as needed and select the "Options" icon.
  2. Scroll down to "Security Options." You'll see various choices under this menu. Select "Security Wipe." Within the Security Wipe function you can choose to either wipe data such as emails, contacts and applications or applications only or wipe all data from the media card.
  3. Select the boxes of the items you want to reset. If you check the box next to "Emails," "Contacts" or more and wipe this data away, you will not be able to send or receive emails on the device after you wipe it.
  4. In order to complete the reset of your BlackBerry Curve, you must enter the word "BlackBerry" into the box at the bottom and wait just a few seconds for your BlackBerry to reset.
